I have assignments keeping me busy, i am an introvert, so being indoors was fine for me.. what was not fun was watching the news, about corona everyday, the deaths, the number of people having it rising, not receiving an income. That really can drive a person insane, and being overwhelmed with fear. Monday South Africa is going down to level 3 lock down.

I am an introvert as well. But I was already semi quarantined in October as a family member was doing chemo. Then sick from middle of January really changed life plans. :-( But the recovery is happening and things are looking better every day. Now I just want to get out of the house and get some sun.

I actually quite enjoyed the quarantine. Here we started early March and is more or less ending now. I think I needed time just to be, with no pressure to go somewhere, do something, see someone. Kept busy with a bit of work, lots of reading and netflix and the occasional zoom/skype with family and friends. I am glad it is over, but I would do it again for one/two weeks in the future (possibly for less scary reasons)

The pandemic has had no effect on my lifestyle at all. I'd be inside anyway. I'm a hermit and used to being alone and prefer to be indoors. I have a muscle car (Ford Mustang GT) and in the summer I sometimes go for a drive, but not that often. I'm an amateur radio (ham radio) operator (30+ years) and I can communicate with people around the world via radio. I'm a retired electronics technician and can repair and even design and build electronic "stuff". I play bongo drums. I have online friends in other countries who I converse with. I love to read newspapers online and listen to news radio (BBC World Service is my favorite). I have a dog. I have tools to make things with (other than electronics). I have many and varied interests. I live to learn new things. So many things to do! I can't keep up with all of it!

Hi Barefoot,

I had to change lifestyle and I’m not happy about. I like running, also in company and in competition. Damned bloody Covid ended this all, now I’m training myself more or less alone; that’s annoying. I’m wishing that all get a jab so that we can get rid of this pandemic.

The pandemic all but killed me. The LGBT site I used to be part of died and left me kind of an orphan. My only real world reality was Karaoke. I used to go out singing 5 or 6 nights a week, and had lots of very good friends. This is a great place to be LGBT, and Karaoke here was disproportionately popular with LGBT people, so it was a doubly nice situation -- I got to sing and be around people like me (well I was the only trans person in the group -- there was a transvestite and a couple of drag queens, though). Since we all saw each other several times every week, almost nobody exchanged phone numbers or email addresses so when the lockdown came out of nowhere, all that was just over -- poof. I didn't sing to live out some kind of teenage rock star fantasy, or to get attention, or to hear myself sing -- I sang to entertain people and make them happy. I'm pretty good and people used to really like hearing me sing. I got lots of requests, and lots of people wanted to do duets with me. There were quite a few really good singers -- so many that I didn't mind waiting an hour and a half for my next turn at the microphone. It was like being at a concert the entire time. We even had some people who did Grand Opera once in a while. Anyway, I was hoping the Karaoke scene was coming back, but then Omicron hit, and poof again. Anyway, I miss my Karaoke -- but I found this site which is beginning to fill the void left when the other site collapsed. I like it here. I think it's a good place for all of us to be.

Hugs,
Audry Leigh
