Gilbert Baker, the designer of the Rainbow Flag and Lynn Segerblom, 40 Years LGBT

Gilbert Baker is often credited as the designer of the original Pride flag, which became a symbol for the LGBTQ movement in 1978, but there was also a team in San Francisco that helped him achieve his vision. Lynn Segerblom, who came up with the dyeing process for the flag, was written about in a Los Angeles Times profile.

This is an interesting Twitter Moments stream on the 40th anniversary of the LGBT pride symbol.
